Being "specially" Self- obsessed: Why taking care of yourself matters

 Hey there mentally fit people! 

How are you all doing? I hope you are taking good care of yourself. If not, let us have a chit-chat about it.



The attention you pay to yourself matters a lot. It is something that affects your life, mentally and physically. Only then you will be balanced and stable. You may be feeling stressed, pity yourself most of the times and you often be blaming yourself for other's faults. Let me say one quick thing; If you are one of such person, this article is for you. 

Some say Self obsession isn't good for you. I don't say anything opposite, but how about self obsession in a "special" way? We must embrace the relation we have with our own self. You're stressed because you are not giving attention to yourself.  Love yourself. Enjoy yourself. Be happy. Be happy with what you have, with what you are now. (This doesn't mean that you stop trying to be better)

Let me give you a situation here. A Person, let's say 'X' is working day and night for his/her family. X listens to whatever his/her boss tells, doesn't speak up, does other team mates work as well, just to be safe. One fine day, X falls sick. Doctors consults X and tells about X's mental condition, which happens to be poor. X is not able to work, he/she developed several problems and ailments and is confined to Bed.

What does our situation tell us? X was careless about his/her health. Can you relate somewhere? What can you do on your part to take better care of yourself?

- Spend sometime with yourself: Sit in peace. Doing nothing. Just sit, and look out from your window. 

-Sometimes kicking back can be good too. Just forget about the world for some time. Just give time to yourself. 

-Stop blaming yourself. Everyone isn't perfect. It is not necessary that you do stuff perfectly. You can ask someone else to do things at times.

I hope this gives you some clarity. But being over- Self obsessed can't prove to be good folks.
